Intro:

Coming to you from beautiful Kennebunk Maine, this site contains information about Early Jazz (see more about this site) and about the bands with which I am associated:

"The Maine Street Paraders".
-playing early jazz from New Orleans, Chicago, New York & Kansas City, the 1940's 'New Orleans Jazz Revival' - (sometimes called "Dixieland") and some Swing. The band is co-led by myself (Craig Johnson) & the fine trombonist, Rick Knittel.
   -- and
"The Fore River Jazz Band". Rick's own band (The Fore River borders the city of Portland Maine.)

For more information about the Maine Street Paraders, select the link above bearing our name.

We are sorry to announce to our fans that we will not be at the Bull N' Claw Restaurant in Wells, Maine this Summer -- especially to our local fans and our loyal fans who arrive each Summer from New Orleans and Arkansas.

Unfortunately the misadventures of the Rock band which set off fireworks inside! a night club in Rhode Island a couple of years ago, causing a fire resulting in multiple deaths. have caused a change in the laws governing entertainment licenses for restaurants and clubs in the state of Maine. This resulted in a decision by the Bull 'N Claw management not to renew their entertainment license.

If you would like to hire the group for a Summer party, clambake etc., please contact Craig Johnson at (207) 967-8190,or e-mail to Craig@Mainely-Jazz.com.
